The Joy of Feeling St*pid

Some time ago, I came across a sentence:

“The moment you feel stupid is the moment learning begins.”

I paused to reflect on it. Because this is often exactly what creative work feels like.

When I work on a new idea… when I step outside familiar ways of thinking… when the solution has not yet taken shape…

a person can feel inadequate.

Before, I interpreted this feeling the wrong way. Now I see it as a signal.

When the brain steps into the unknown, it struggles. When it struggles, it builds new connections. When new connections form, creativity emerges.

That temporary “I don’t understand” feeling is often a sign that the mind is rebuilding itself.

Creativity requires:

the ability to tolerate uncertainty

the courage to make mistakes

accepting temporary inadequacy

trusting the process

All mastery begins with a phase that feels confusing and difficult.

Nowadays, when I feel lost in the middle of a problem, I no longer panic. I might be exactly where I need to be.

Because creativity does not come from certain answers, but from a courageous relationship with uncertainty.

The comfort zone provides a sense of safety. Uncertainty creates something new.

And sometimes the strongest sign of progress is that we do not yet understand everything.
